Wendy and I first visited Chenal in the summer of 1993 at the invitation of a friend, and began attending full-time when we moved to Little Rock in 1995. During our 24 years at Chenal, we have seen the church mature from a small group that met informally in the current Wortham Center to the construction of the auditorium and the Family Life Center. We were drawn to Chenal both for the friendly atmosphere and because it was a place we felt like we could get involved quickly and make a difference. While here, we have been Life Group leaders, Sunday School teachers for children’s and adult classes, and have been involved in several ministries, including Children, Youth, Women, Worship, and Finance.
We met at Harding University before getting married and moving to North Carolina where I attended law school and graduate school at Duke. Wendy was a talented graphic designer and worked for Leisure Arts and the Arkansas Arts Center before raising our two children, Cooper and Sophie. Wendy also later worked at the church as the office administrator and later the children’s minister. I spent 23 years in private practice as an attorney at Rose Law Firm, the last three as the managing partner. Currently, I am the Chief Financial Officer for Mountaire Corporation, an integrated poultry and grain company whose corporate headquarters is here in Little Rock. Our son Cooper is a senior engineering double major at Duke and our daughter Sophie is a rising junior at Robinson High School in Little Rock.
