This past Sunday, we were honored to hear from Steven Morris. Steven is the programming director at River City Ministry. Throughout his lesson, Steven shared a lot about what goes into his work at River City and that has shaped his view of people.
One of the things that really stood out in his lesson was Steven’s reminder to be Christ-like in every situation and relationship that we may find ourselves in. Although it’s not always the easiest thing to do, it is what we are called to do as followers of Jesus.
I’ve reflected quite bit on Steven’s point regarding compassion towards others. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where compassion is often in short supply. However, when we fail to show compassion to our neighbor, we miss an opportunity to show that person Christ. We do not what another person is going through or what they have experienced in life, which is why it is so important to show grace and compassion to all.
Again, I’m thankful for Steven and the work that he does at River City Ministry. If you haven’t had a chance to listen, I’d encourage to take some time this week and listen to his message.
