Meditate on This!

Sunday was an informative and inspiring day. CVC has been blessed to partner for 20 years now with the great folks who work and worship with Silver City Church, River City Church, Hand up Housing, and Hope Works. These churches and organizations do a fantastic job sharing Jesus and sharing life, mentoring children, working with the homeless, those trying to transition off the streets, and those fighting to stay off the streets. They offer food, counseling, career assistance, shelter, medical care and so much more. The life and ministry of those we heard from serve as an example of the calling we all have to be salt and light in the world.

What’s more, Sunday was a celebration of all the ways that you, the members at CVC, have supported and participated in the work. Our church has offered financial support to these individuals and efforts, and that support has grown over the years thanks to your generosity. We also continue to have individuals and groups get involved in service. We have CVC members who have served on the board at River City Ministry. Life groups regularly serve meals on Sunday nights at Silver City Church. We have people who have served as mentors to kids who greatly benefit from positive adult influence, and others who have volunteered at the summer camp. Our youth group has served the lunch at River City Ministry. The wonderful Marilyn Boyle has prepared amazing meals 4-5 times a week for about 2 years for a large group of homeless people that River City Ministry feeds. You have lifted up prayers. You have given money. You have volunteered your time, and I pray you will keep it up.

On Sunday, April 29, we will have our special 5th Sunday contribution that is going towards missions efforts like these. Please prayerfully consider how you can generously support this work. Even more, I urge you to consider other ways you can get involved in supporting God’s kingdom work to the underprivileged in our community.
